Official Word from Pataks

Below is the e-mail response I recieved to my enquiry:

"Dear Mrs Kerketta

We recently had issues getting 9 products into the USA due to some
administrative issues with the FDA. All of these issues have now been
resolved and the products are due for delivery into the USA by the end of
October. Only some of our pickles and pastes were affected, but as stated
this is now resolved, all other products remained in full supply. Detail of
the full product range can be found on Worldfood.com.

If there is an official way of communicating to the UK community in the USA
please do let me know as I would like to get in touch to officially confirm
the above and also pass on any relevent news about new products.

Many thanks for your interest and support of our great Patak's products.

Julie Harrison
PA to Sales Director"

So....does anyone know an "official" way to contact the british expat community? If so, please pass it on to me and I will see to it that Ms. Harrison gets the information.

I think by posting on BE will reach a wide British expat audience.

Woo Hoo!!!

I was just about to put my coat on and buy every jar of Patak's curry in Wegmans. Mind you it's on offer at $2.99 so I might go and get a few jars anyway.

Thanks.

YOU ARE A STAR - YEEHAAAAAAAA - I thought I was going to have to start making my own again.

The Indian shop (that sells Brit food) here in Atlanta sells TONS of PATAKS. When I told him I made my own curry sauces he told me I was mad, and said even his own Mum used Pataks :) :) :)

ahem.

Dear Mrs Harrison,

Thank you for your reply. It was great to hear that Pataks products are now going to be available in full supply in the USA.

If you send me one case of Lime Pickle I will tell you of a little website where a few British Expats occasionally visit and you can post your product info.

Yours Sincerely,
Sarah.

I can vouch for what has been said from Pataks. I used to work there myself and so know Julie Harrison!!

Sometimes you wonder if these people do exist.

Thanks Thing1, I'm going for my long-awaited trip to the UK next week, and was planning to bring a suitcase full of Patak's - now I don't have to!

Re: Official Word from Pataks

Can you ask Ms Harrison whom to blackmail or bribe at the FDA to get them to relent on these idiotic bans?

We're allowed to smoke and drink ourselves to death, get skin cancer at the local tanning salon, but one dodgy food colouring and noooooooo you can't have that!

Trouble is I want sweets. I can see it now, the warning label:

"The Attorney General has determined that eating these sweets may cause genetic mutation, cancer, gingivitis, and dental caries as well as obesity."

Every kid in school would buy a packet!

Lol. There is a wonderful Indian lady who works at my local Publix store, and when I asked her what's for dinner one day she said..I don't know about you, but I'm heading for ......., the nearest Indian grocer, and buying up some frozen curry to heat up for my family.....LOL..

I fell about laughing...... lol
