Default O/T American Cigarettes

Im finally leaving for Chicago on Wednesday (yehahh!!), and I am wondering if anybody
has suggestions for an equivalent brand of cigarettes to Royal lights. Ive visited
before, but always taken my own up to now. Im trying to save myself having to go
through trying each brand out. Royal lights are lighter than a standard strength,
but slightly stronger than a conventional light. Any suggestions?? Thanks,
Jacqueline

Hmm, I smoke parliament lights...the "all american brand" of lights is probably
marlboro lights or ultra lights...those would be my suggestions.

Could try Marlborough mediums, less than standard strength but slightly more than
your average light

My French husband bought the maximum of his favorite at the duty-free on his way
over, then quit when they ran out because people just don't smoke here.

Heck I work in Manhattan and live 25 miles north of it and I still smoke. But people no longer buy cigs in Manhattan. Hell at $6.40 a pack who can afford them if you have to buy them there. Thank you Mr. Bloomberg.

Try Benson and Hedges and/or Dunhill ... they come in varying strengths so one ought to do it for you.

I smoke Virginia Slims and find the Ultralights harsher than the lights.

My first husband had a Belgian colleague who was surprised at the large number of
prositutes hanging out on Wall Street. Turns out he thought all the women standing in
front of the buildings wearing short skirts and smoking must be "working girls." They
were--bankers who aren't allowed to smoke anywhere in the building where they work.

He was very soon conscious of the class issue here.

Statistically, college-educated Americans don't smoke and high school dropouts do.
When he says "people" of course he means "people in his social circle," which is a
very judgmental yet natural distinction to make. He felt like smoking made him appear
less educated or intelligent, and this made him uncomfortable--as did going outside
to smoke in February.

Frankly, other than him, I don't think that I know anyone who smokes. My parents knew
people who did in the 70's. I suspect that older Americans might still smoke, but I
don't hang around with many people over 50.

He is also very surprised that people don't smoke marijuana here. I suppose one
could say, "Yes, they do," but it's just not something that comes up for
discussion at work.

No.. if you post in a public forum, you will hear from all sides. You should take
this opportunity of starting a new life in the US without an old habit.

Although I quit in November of last year (after a quadruple bypass <HINT>) The brand
you're looking for (light but stronger than a normal light) is Camel Wide Lights. Try
em, I'm sure that's what you want.......Then quit
