Having dealt with NTL that is so close to the truth.

Re: NTL Hotline

Hi
I agree. I have had numerous problems with NTL the last one being that I kept getting bills for an account that had been closed and paid 6 months before. They even threatened to take me to court and get a debt collector which would have been interesting! There is no number to call from the US apart from an 0800 number which can't be accessed from the US! Their complaints e mail is ok as long as they reply. They hadn't replied for 6 weeks and when I tried to e mail to them again I discovered you can only e mail one complaint at a time!! My husband eventually got fed up of their ridiculous demands and phoned their investor relations department which does have a normal UK number and also phoned their head office and left a message on their CEO's answering service. Amazingly enough, we had a phone call the next day and the next day, promising to resolve the matter. I had calls from them every few days after that until they realised their mistake. 4 weeks after that, I had an e mail teling me their complaints department were investigating my complaint! NTL really has major problems. The shame is that some people would have just paid the money thinking it was their fault. Sorry for the rant but seeing this just reminded me how angry and upset NTL managed to make me even though I was 4000 miles away! Oh...I also had a bill 12 months after a telephone line I had was disconnected!

Re: NTL Hotline

NTL are shit... no other way around it.

I cancelled with them in November of 2002, in writing and by phone. Got all the requisite numbers, cancellation charges blah blah blah, paid the whole thing off in December 2002.

In August of 2003 they actually stopped trying to charge me having put us onto debt collection agencies, sent threatening letters. I'd called them about 30 times, after about 4 times with totally crap and stupid people I started recording all details. After about 15 calls people started listening.

Eventually I threatened legal action quoting people I'd spoken to with employee numbers, extensions blah blah blah... not long after I got a call from someone high up who took 5mins to sort the whole thing out.

I'll never touch them again.
