Default Nsc

I am so stressed...I just called the NSC and spoke with an information officer. He stated that it will probably be another 60-90 days before my I-129F petition gets approved. It has already been 80 days since my first NOA. I'm so sad I feel like my Fiance will never be able to come here. I was accepting the possibility that it could take at least 100 or maybe 115 days but the thought of having to wait 170 days makes me go wacko.

I hope others have heard something better than I have.

Dont get too stressed on what the information officers tell you. They are always telling a different story. There processing petitions for June so they are still moving. I dont see it taking another 90 days unless they get really slow again. Considering your only at 80 days I think you have at least another 1- 1 1/2 month to go. Just all depends how fast they get thru the petitions.

Hang in there it seems like the waiting is never gonna end but it does. It took my petition 129 days before approval & I didnt think it would happen but it did.

Did the officer say what date they are working on? My 1st NOA was June 18 and still no word.

The information officer told me that are on May 31st right now. Ughhhhh.

I really hope my petition gets approved by December at the latest. I really miss my Fiance.
I could kick myself...now I wish I would have just married him in Turkey.

A couple days ago they told me they were working on mid June.

Sounds like someone dropped the pile and it's all out of order.

Hi Judi,
I'll be at the NSC next Wednesday, 10/30, touring the facility. Since I do a ton of fiancée work through that service center (plus all of the other service centers) you can bet that I'll be keeping an eye out, and asking I-129f related questions (such as why have they been so slow lately... I'm sure it’s a combination of factors). I'll post a report in the group when I return (that is, assuming I have any newsworthy information to report).

Thank You and I hope inquiries will help them to speed up. Is there anything else that can be done? I know a lot of people talk about speaking with a congressman or senator...can this really help to speed up a particular petition?

Thanks for any information.

Sincerely,

Judi

Calling in a Congressman won't usually speed up a petition that is simply waiting its turn with other petitions filed at the same time. Everybody else’s cases are important to them too, so it would not be fair if it did.

Now, if the INS screws up, a Congressman might be helpful in getting through to the Service Center for you, and help you get additional information or evidence to them (that’s what I do for my clients when the INS or Consulate screw up, which happens more often than I’d like), but the Congressman is not going to be able to force them to approve a case they feel should be denied.

I specifically asked my tour guide at the CSC (last time I was there, looking over the congressional phone bank section) if calling in a Congressman would get a case moved up in the line. She emphatically said that no, it would not, and she too said it would not be fair if it did.

But even though I know the answer to this question, I'll try to remember to ask someone at the NSC about this when I'm there next week.

Good luck with your case.

Yes, I guess you are right and I don't want any preferential treatment. I really just want them to start moving faster on everyones petitions. I wish everyone the best of luck especially, those of you with May and June 1st NOA's.

Thanks,

One thing to keep in mind before you stress out too much....
The INS office will ALWAYS quote you the "Worst Case" timeline.
While it IS possible it will take as long as they quoted, it is USUALLY the
case that it actually goes quicker!

It had been just over a year since we filed for AOS and we had to go back
and renew her work authorization and AP... While we were there,
we asked about the timeline to expect for being called in for our AOS
interview.
She checked the status & told us it would likely be another 4~6 months...
That was 2 weeks ago. We just got the notification last week that our
interview is this Thursday!

Not sure if I'm more excited or nervous! :-)

Best of luck to you & hang in there! If it's meant to be.... It WILL
happen!

If you look back at other post, you will see NSC doing the same thing. One officer telling you they are working on one day and the another telling you something different.

Also, if you are still within the time frame they gave you, 70-100 days, there isn't much you can do except wait.

I wasn't approved until 138 days had passed. My first NOA was May 30th and I was just approved Oct. 15th. So that should give you at least a guess on what day they are working. Unless they speed up, you might have another 30-60 day wait.

Judy,
I agree with the other response's. Before
I applied for the I-129f,I called the INS.
The women on the other end, told me the process would take 1-1/12
years!!
I sent my petition in,received my 1st NOA,
June 7th,waited,for what seemed like an eternity, and received my
approval,on
Oct.15,125 days after first NOA.Two days ago,I received the little devil
in the mail.

A person I keep in contact with, who is three weeks ahead of me at
NSC,Is still waiting, due to one address on his form is different than
another. If there is nothing wrong with your form,(no information
needed)and it is an I-129f as mine is,I
can only guess it will be in your hands soon .
Keep the chin up and patience is a good
virtue,when dealing with the INS.
Good Luck
John

First of all try not to get too stressed out. My limited experience with
NSC (my petition took 137 days) is that the MIS-information officers
simply quote what has been given them that day (and it changes each day).
Their job seems to be to 'get rid of you by any means possible outside of
telling you it has been approved'.

Personally I would not beleave them if they told me my own name -- but thats
me. It is amusing hearing what the story of the day is.

A better source if information is to watch which dates are being processed
(and announced) on this newsgroup -- but don't get too upset of some people
who have a 1st NOA date _after_ yours get their approval before you. (They
have not invented the Calender in Nebraska yet so are never sure what day it
mf.....Hey - give them a break - I think they just discovered fire :^).

I know that some people with a 1st NOA date 2 weeks after mine were
approve a week before mine was approved. Go figure.

Just sit back. get to know your Fiancee even more . Or start collecting
the documents which will be required for the consulate.

Hmm... when I was a little kid I used to think that Christmas would _never_
get here. But it always did. Patience is a virtue - which the INS is very
good at teaching.
