Lightbulb Not for Rushman: Summer 2 for 1 fares to London

I've just received an e-mail alert and thought I might share as it's a Summer offer from NOW until 15th September (must book by 30th July):

It's to take a companion to/from London for free on the business class-only airline, Silverjet, from Newark NJ to Luton, UK. Roundtrip tickets for *two* people should cost around $2000 (it's the slow season for biz-class travel as everyone is on their hols).

My husband has taken a couple of flights with this airline and was quite impressed (they had a recent promotion to get round-trip tickets for under $1500); it only has 100 seats on the plane and you check in at their dedicated lounge (pre-security) at Newark....they've allowed me in there when seeing him off for his departure and I was scoffing their sarnies and reading the English newspapers he he. Silverjet has its own terminal at Luton.

Here's their promotion:

Not worth starting a new thread for, but AA has announced slights from NYC into Stansted, which is mildly good news for anyone travelling into North/East London, East Anglia, or anywhere else you can get a train to from Stansted...

I wonder if it's some kind of codeshare with the business class airline MaxJet? They fly from NYC to Stansted (unless I'm confusing them with the EOS airline?)

A few years ago Continental had flights from Stansted to Newark...but they cancelled the flights due to poor ticket sales. It wil be interesting to see how AA does, as they already fly into Heathrow and I can't see why they would want a Stansted route?

Because Heathrow is "full" and AA believes there is still unsatisfied trans-Atlantic demand.

Naah, apparently they've started into Stansted because Silverjet has been able to build credibility for Stansted in the City. I would assume that STN also has more slots available but I'm just speculating there, and maybe they can pick up some connecting-from-Europe business too. LHR was always crap for getting to East London/the City.

Was that certain dates ? As their map says , Gatwick and Heathrow for Airports in England. And Manchester as a seasonal one.
