Nosey Newbie
Nosey, because I want to use this forum to gain info etc about our planned move across the pond.
Newbie, because, well, I am...
Married 36 year old male living in London. Originally from Birmingham and lived in Sheffield for 3 years as a student.
Travelled a lot over recent years (mostly pleasure) and realised how beautiful and interesting the world is. We love living and working in London but would now like to experience a new culture and a new country.
In particular we like big cities - the buzz and the vibe - so obviously NY is a target destination (although we are open to suggestions - someone has already said Boston in nice too and should be considered). I work for a US Co. in the UK so a transfer should be an option.
As for work/qualificatons - I'm CIMA (management accountant) qualified with MBA. Now working in SOX technical compliance. Wife in Financial Services and completing her MBA over next 18 months. I gather with Masters degrees we should be looked on OK by US immigration.
Have no kids, and none planned. Have a cat.
I'm a Wolves fan Wife is Villa fan. So not too many footy based arguments at home
Erm. Can't think of anything else to say.

welcome - i think i posted on you NY thread in the main section! As you work in SOX there is a huge market over here - that said the Internal Audit/risk management profession here is a good few years behind the UK, SOX has given them a kick up the arse and they are catching up - but local recruiting is tough. I dont think just having masters, MBA will alone get you into the US - your company will need to want you over here and support your visa etc - you have probably already explored this with them though?
Good luck mate!

Have you read the section in the FAQ about immigration? Check that first.
There's threads in the main USA forum about bringing pets to the US so please search for tips and resources.
