North Floridian Welshman
Just want to say hi. I've been in the US 22 years and spent the last 20 years in North Central Florida. Last few years I've realized how fast time is going by and had to do some spadework to catch up with my UK pension and other private pension plans. I'm pretty much caught up with everything now. Found some good info on the USA forum site in the last few weeks about various tax things regarding retirement and transferring pension money over here. I've met quite a few British ex-pats here where I live but I work unsocial hours so don't mingle around too much. Not so many on this forum from North Florida it seems. Posted over in the Welcome Inn but thought I'd stop by here as some of the threads have been very helpful.

I used to install medical equipment worldwide. I had a prolonged install in Florida and met a local lass. My next install was in Seattle, so I requested a transfer from my division in England to the States and would join the local service team in Seattle. We got married and lived in Seattle for a little over a year but she hated the weather and that I also worked 70-80 hours a week. So, I took a position at the Florida hospital where I did the installation work and we moved back down here. It's hard to put up with all the sunshine after living in Wales but I guess somebody has to do it

zero per cent welsh and a bit further down from TB.....near Boca Grande - I guess the welshness goes the further south you come :-)
