My husband and I were married in July 2001, we filed for AOS in Sept 2001, our
interview date was set for Dec 18, 2001. Since our marriage we have remodled the
upstairs of a relatives home into a small apartment since we are just starting out.
We dont pay rent, therefore dont have any lease agreements etc...however, we do have
a phone bill together in our name, vet bills, internet bills, receipts for our paying
the share of electricity, medical insurance, tons of wedding shower and wedding
photos and cards. My question is with our not having rent receipts or a lease
agreement will the interviewer look down on this? Would it help to have the person we
are staying with write a small letter stating that we do indeed live in the household
as a married couple? We have had such a smooth process so far and with the interview
right around the cornor im starting to get nervous. Thanks for any advice.

You obviously have a lot of evidence so I wouldn't worry about this at all. You might
want to get that letter anyway but only produce it if the interviewer starts
questioning why you have no lease.

Andy.
