Even Surrey County Council have there offices in Kingston:

One of the things I've always wanted to do since I was a little kid was ride on one of London's red double-decker buses. The one visit I made to England in 2003 did not include this experience, mostly because Mark thought it was silly -- "It's just a bus!" he said.

Well, now I don't know when I'll have the chance, if ever.

The funny thing is, I'm not British but even *I* feel a little sad that these buses are being decommissioned. How do you Brits feel about it? Like Mark does, or like I do?

You do realise that they're not getting red of ALL the red double decker buses, don't you? It's only the old Routemaster design that is finally being retired: if you go to London after today you'll still find that the majority of the buses will be red double deckers so you shouldn't be disapppointed, or was it your ambition specifically to ride on a Routemaster bus?

Well, I don't know what the difference is, to be honest with you. I didn't know there was more than one kind of red double-decker bus.

I am well pleased as they were not accessible to everyone and the UK is so far behind the US (and some others I guess)
