No End In Sight For Heathrow Flight Chaos
Oh dear....
.....the thick pea-souper freezing fog over most of the UK isn't lifting and BA has cancelled all UK domestic and most short haul flights for Friday and Saturday....
Coventry airport had to close and ferry people by road to Birmingham instead.
I hope this isn't going to affect anyone flying home for Christmas or having relatives coming here via UK domestic flights.....

aye, I saw that on the beeb world news...kind of unlucky that, but did get a chuckle when a couple people were moaning about BA cancelling flights...because dying in a plane crash trying to fly in that fog would have been so much better

My daughter flies in from Manchester, departing tomorrow morning. The current status is
"Manchester Airport is currently fully operational with flights leaving on time."
and I am keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way for the next 24 hours . . .

My parents are flying in from Manchester tomorrow morning. Planes were taking off slightly late from Manchester this morning but everything seems to be OK for tomorrow with no fog in the forecast.

Re: No End In Sight For Heathrow Flight Chaos
I have just spoken to my parents who live 10 minutes from Manchester Airport and they have had no fog at all. Their local news has reported that there will be no flight disruptions from MAN in the morning.

Re: No End In Sight For Heathrow Flight Chaos
To be more accurate. Flying in Fog, taking off and landing in fog are all NOT the problem.
The problem is WHEN on the ground, not being able to see the signs to ensure you are on the right runway, not hitting a tanker trunk or another plane.
Apart from that, flying in fog is perfectly safe :scared:
