I've been using google Fi for about a month now, it's good however you have to pay the fees on top of the monthly rate. We've decided to go to T-Mobile $80 per month for 2 lines including 6GB each plus Binge On and including data roaming in 140 countries. With my employee discount it works out at $67 per month plus fees. I'm planning to use my Nexus 5x on the service..

Taxes? That adds about $3 to the 1GB plan.

My 2GB fees with a Florida address are $4.44 per month. Some states are less, some are more. I am very happy with Fi. If I only use 1Gb I am credited the difference. No roaming fees wordwide are a big plus.

When we moved from AZ to OH, I popped into the T Mobile store to change our address. I mentioned during this process that we'd at some point want to change our 602 code phone numbers for local 614 ones - easier to reel off in shops and give out to schools and the like - but that I was holding off for a couple of months until we'd finished buying our house, so that when the transaction went through and we got deluged with sales calls, it'd be to a number I was planning to burn.

The sales guy helpfully told me that we'd then be paying about $13 a month more tax on our 4 lines, as it's based not on the address, but on the dialing code prefix. So we decided to keep the AZ numbers. As a happy bonus, I also didn't get a bunch of annoying calls for insurance/ blinds/ boilers, etc on the new house - they must've seen the out of area code and decided not to bother
