Newsroom
Once again, HBO delivers ...
I really enjoyed their latest show 'Newsroom' with Jeff Daniels. The opening scene was pretty awesome ...

Not included in the video clip is an important lead in; he's criticized as being non-committal, too diplomatic, the 'Jay Leno' of news anchors, liked by everyone because he offends no one, etc. So his outburst here is all the more unusual.
After a start like that, it had a lot to live up to but I really enjoyed it ...
Found a clip that has just a touch more of the intro:

Re: Newsroom
It's an Aaron Sorkin show. Among the movies and TV shows that Sorkin did include, The American President, The West Wing and a wonderful little known sitcom called Sports Night. Great smart dialogue in all his projects. I will gladly try anything that Sorkin puts out. I don't get HBO, but I'll figure out a way to see this new show soon.

Great heads-up. I'll watch that.
Right from the opening I thought, "New York Jets" whats the problems, that's the closest to a real answer of the three of them.

Overall I enjoyed it but after the first 10 minutes for about the next 45 minutes I was wondering why I was watching it. Hopefully it's just the setup episode and future ones will be better. Although it does seem to be his next attempt to make the basic format of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip work.

Re: Newsroom
I was very disappointed. It seemed like a bog-standard newsroom soap, lots of shouting and arm-waving but no substance.
