Good resolution.

Mine is to make it through to the end of another year relatively unscathed.

mine is to start working out again - illness ended a 4 year run of 10+ hours a week 18months ago... I'll be bringing it back in and hopefully saying goodbye to my considerable gut in the new year.

Now mine, is to not work as much! I'm making a New Years resoultion to either find a new job, or negotiate more time off. This American tradition of 2 weeks off a year is the primary factor that is destroying my enthusiasm for this country.

OMG Elvira - I didn't read anything about your UK taxes, but I completely *****ed mine up too. I've been here 2 years, wrote and told the Inland Revenue and filled out the P85 'moving abroad' form there and then. Heard nothing. Then in August of this year, out of the blue, I start getting 'statements' from them, saying I owed them money as I haven't filled in my tax forms, which I honestly never received - ex-husband had thrown them away, except one which he scribbled my new address on & posted back to them. Without telling me. So it appeared to them I was trying to escape paying tax (as if!!!) Anyway I appealed, and filled them in for both years, found the P85 which I had never sent (oops!) and sent it too. It turned out they owed me money - haha! But I was seriously worried for a while - I've always paid things on time.

Here's to the Inland Revenue!
