We are all set to move to New Jersey start of next year but now having a wobble over location. We had thought Basking Ridge as friends are there, but at the back of my mind I keep wondering if I will miss the lack of a downtown/high street.

We have a 7 year old, 3 year old and 1 year old. The 7 year old has already had 2 primary schools so we are very keen to ensure this next move he can at least see out an elementary school for next 3 years.

I feel the pressure to select a good area with a nice elementary school but just don't know where! I liked the look of Madison and Chatham when we visited but a friend has told me they are "very snooty" i thought people seemed very welcoming in NJ though.

I don't know Maplewood but have heard good things - does anyone know/recommend an elementary school there?

Millburn seems to have amazing schools (on niche) but I can't seem to see any rentals available there.

Any thoughts welcome Re good locations and thoughts on schools

Several threads on the area. Try the BE search engine to find them...also look at Englishmum's posts/threads...she used to live in Milburn and has posted extensively about the area.

Summit was very pretty and seemed tidy and compact, with a proper downtown when Mrs Q and I visited it a couple of weeks ago.
