Hubby wants either a Mustang or a big ass pick-up truck. I presume either of those would be slightly more acceptable?

You are just upset that your avatar thinks American trucks are a giant curly Richard III

And that I was able to find such a tasteful, understated Mini.

Post upgraded, see below80]Hubby wants either a Mustang or a big ass pick-up truck. I presume either of those would be slightly more acceptable? [/QUOTE]
They would, but not at all practical, which why an Explorer would be the perfect compromise.

Alternatively you could instead adopt the Pulaski family compromise: Honda Accord + Ford F250 crew cab (aka a really "big ass pick-up truck") + Mustang GT. All bases are covered!

No, it's the MX5 that should be crushed! ..... Unless you get it upgraded with an aftermarket small block Ford V8.

Show him an F250 and he'll get over the lack of electric doors.

I do. .... I took it through the car pool line this morning (as I do every morning) to drop off little Miss P.

Well you'd have to upgrade the brakes too, of course.

Here's another upgraded MX5, that also gets you closer to the "big truck experience":

I give you: the MX5 dually! (And with a remarkable driver. )

Ah yes, but I said I can't really see me, a 42-year-old middle class Brit, doing the school run in one!

That said, this one has a certain something...
