New here with a question

Hi all,

My name's Lucy and I'm originally from Cornwall- lived in the US for seven years now. I am married with two little boys, and I work for a British newspaper here in San Diego.

Anyway, my question is, does anyone know of anywhere that sells poppies for Remembrance Day? I haven't been able to find any online (but my search did bring me here!) Preferably in San Diego, but if I could get one online that would also be great. I have an elderly friend here who is British and I think it would mean a lot to her.

So cool finding this forum!

Lucy

Well I have one, your onby real bet would be to get one posted. I would be happy to send one, but it would not get to you on time.

that's sweet of you to offer David. I'll check the list that Andy has and see if I can find one on there. You lot are certainly on the ball! Thanks for your quick replies :D

sorry, I though Andy meant he would post a list of places I could get them- I misunderstood. Thanks Andy. So I am still open to any suggestions in San Diego!

Try the pub on the corner of India and Washington.,...think I have that right - is it the Shakespeare? They have a very pricey English Shoppe attached, which is very useful when the Hob-Nob craving is uncontrollable :)

Poppys are usually sold here for Memorial Day which is at the end of May. I don't think they sell them for Veterans Day (Rememberence Day). I might be wrong.......

Is it really beyond the capability of most grown adults to actually "make" a half decent poppy themselves?
