Default New Hampshire, how did that happen?

Just read the local news and they've just beaten Mass on the number of drivers using seat belts, went up from 72 a couple years ago to 75%, while it's still 73% in MA, one of the lowest rated.

It's amusing as NH is one of the few states that doesn't require seat belts, car insurance, motor bike helmets for cyclists and no vehicle excise tax.

The insurance thing is weird though, as anyone involved in a at fault accident is then required to get insurance, anyone getting a loan for a car usually has to get insurance as a requirement from the bank, and they can't drive out of state lines without insurance...and they still have numbers with insurance about the same as MA.

So maybe there is something in it about being given the choice for being a knob and hoping that most won't be...though it clearly wouldn't work here in MA, as anyone who has driven here will know
