domestic yes...but maybe they will try a little harder as they compete with virgin/ba on the route. time will tell.
i have flown delta only a couple of times transatlantic.. it was just ok.. but better service than AA!

Delta does not compete directly with BA or Virgin though.

Delta cannot fly into Heathrow like Virgin and BA can from the USA.

true but it is a another choice on the NY-LDN route even though different airport. maybe their main competition will be continental EWR-LGW..

In both body and spirit: the worst of the US 'majors' in my book. I try and fly European airlines - or Air Canada - between the US and Europe, because I find the service levels significantly higher.

Northwest internationally I find very good but they're in a right crappy financial situation.
I had an excellent experience recently with Continental, although their transatlantic trend of a 757 across the pond irks me.
