New British Child Passport Photo Size?

Hi there, I recently applied for and received my 6 month old daughters US passport, I am now in the process of applying for her British Passport.

When we got her the US Passport I asked them to print two extra photos thinking I could us them for the British applicatioin but the required sizes are different!

For the Bristish passport the photo has to be 1.77 inches by 1.38 inches but the US one is 2"x2".

What have other people done to get the required size photo?

You could print your own at home.

If you've got a mac you could try Passport Photo Studio. I use it all the time and print my own.

A lot of people also use epassportphoto.com, I couldn't get on with it, but you could give it a try, it's free and you may find it works great for you.

yeah, we did our own of our then 3 month old - I stood on a stepstool while he lay in his crib, snapped a few dozen shots with my little Canon point and shoot, and dropped them into photoshop. Got the best photo from the bunch, used the magic wand tool to fade the background sheet to white, and the ruler tool to get the right dimensions. Then applied it a couple of copies of it to a 4x6 and printed it at CVS for $0.29. Won't do it any other way now!

I'm sure that the Walgreens we got ours done at had an option for UK or US size. We were getting US size and so the lady whizzed past that option but I'm certain I saw a UK option in there.

We got kids pictures taken at Walgreens. We told them it was for UK passports but we didn't check the size. Sent off application and it was processed with no problems at all.

If you are getting Brit passports in the US, use the US passport size photo, they'll cut them down to size for you, it even tells you that somewhere on the forms about the photo's.

If you really want to print out UK sized photo's, or getting them made up in the UK, use http://www.epassportphoto.com/ and print them off where ever you like, Target is nice and cheap and works well.
