Still, the image of a flaming pet bunny bouncing around the neighbourhood igniting the bushes is quite... interesting.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on where to look for jobs, or any companies who are willing to do the sponsorship thing?
Errr....no experience, about bugger all chance tbh because an H1B ain't cheap...also ain't got much time to find someone to apply before the quota is filled for that Oct start.

Your best bet, depending on what you studied and where you studied would be either OPT, or a J1...OPT is basically training for those who studied in the US, and J1 is basically a training visa.

I got a B2 myself...though at the time, having a pile of cash helped *l*

Aye, I got my B2 for a years travelling around the US straight after I graduated...but like I said, I had a stack of cash and had to prove I had it, and access to even more funds like my credit cards as well as proof that my sister worked for BA and was able to get me a ticket within 10 days for cheap if needed and why I couldn't have an open air ticket from the get go because staff tickets can only be had 3 months in advance, at the time.

Bloody hell - that's a bi harsh.
I would have thought that a simple slap over the wrists would suffice.

Thanks Bob. It's not going well so far, but I'll have to keep trying. I looked into the OPT and J-1 thing before I left, but thought it would be better to be out here and just go for it. Could well have been a bad call! I studied in the UK at Sheffield Hallam Uni and graduated last June with a BA (hons) International Business with French. I have some international experience from studying and working in France, do you think that will be of any help at all? Appreciate your help by the way

Umm...don't think your degree will be of that big a help to be honest. The french thing might be a bonus if you were in Montreal. Are you looking to emigrate over here permanently, or just have a summer of fun and see what happens? If you're looking for professional experience with the chance of something else, I would've thought doing an internship would've been a better idea.

Thanks for responding. That's not what I wanted to hear though!! Bugger! I'm looking to move here, I'm living with my boyfriend in CT at the moment so am looking in the Hartford area. Are internships easier to get into then full time employment?
