new Arizona illegal immigration enforcement law

Re: new Arizona illegal immigration enforcement law
My concern is not for their funding but rather the manner of raising it. By simply increasing the sales tax, it hits the poor disproportionately. On the other hand, voting no because of this puts me in there with the teabaggers. I may just go and shoot myself instead.

Taxation and Representation should be interchangeable.

Ooooh now you'll be a marked man as a tea-bagger LOL There's a piece here about Jan Brewer from the LA Times claiming she might not survive the tax hikes:

Re: new Arizona illegal immigration enforcement law
I know you are being sarcastic but honestly, while I don't live in Arizona, I live in a portion of lower New York State where we have more than our share of illegals. Many of these illegals are driving big new SUV's, their children are going to some of the higher scored schools in lower Westchester because they live two and three families to an apartment or live one family in a studio apartment. They send money home to their families in their home country. And yes, there are far too many that are homeless and live in the woods in makeshift villages. If this is the way you had to live to be here illegally, then why in heaven's name are you still here? To better yourself and your family. That type of living is better?
While they have rights to be treated humanly, they do not have the right to live and work here. There have been immigration laws in effect for most of the life of the US. I know my mother followed them, as did my grandparents from Poland in the 1800's. One family member comes over and works and saves until they can sponsor more family members. My grandmother's sister sponsored her and my grandfather's older brother sponsored him. My father sponsored my mother.
Illegal immigration is not limited to the US only. The UK has had more than its share of illegal immigrants over the years. With the establishment of the EU, now you can live and work in any EU county you wish to without having immigration papers. You just need your EU card.
There has to be a solution to the illegal immigration problem in the US with stiff penalties to those who flaunted the laws for tens of years. The federal government is doing squat all and if Arizona's law makes them get off their collective fat arses to seek and institute a solution to the problem, then more the power to Arizona. For an illegal, you gambled and now you have to pay the consequences for your bet because you lose.

But here in the UK we hunt the illegals down like dogs pardon the pun we raid chinese takeout resturants and butchers shops and hairdressing salons and if you steal an unemployed person's social security number we call it national insurance they are on you like a flash we have immigration officers in London underground stations checking people's ID as they go on the tube and they do catch people they don't do it every day though. I have never seen this on the ele in Chicago and I am sure they don't do it in new york either.

Since when have Brits carried ID?
