Nevada driving test and SSN

Folks,
Do we have to wait for our SSN's to arrive to take any of the driving tests to get our licenses?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Nevada driving test and SSN

I'm going to California and I've been told we can do nothing (driving test wise) without the SS number, but reading posts on here it seems to depend what state you're in.

If you're in a state where they require proof of your SSN before you can sit the test, go to the SS office 10 days after entry with your passports/valid visas and ask for a printout of your SSN (you should be in the system by then).

The DMV should take that as proof even if you don't have the actual SS card. Of course, DMV offices seem to be filled with all kinds of dumbasses, so there's no telling what will happen.

Residency & Proof of Identity

As a first-time applicant for a Nevada driver license, instruction permit or ID card, you will be required to provide proof of your identity (name and date of birth) and separate proof of your social security number if one has been issued for you.
