a needless thread

There's not much point to this thread, i just wanted to shared my sheer delight and elation at receiving the news that my ship has reached SF and successfully got through customs. Now i just need to schedule delivery and things will be a little more homely.

As an aside, it also gives me an excuse to "work from home" which means i can get my name corrected on my social security. First time they got my date of birth wrong, second time my name....what next

Sounds like you're enjoying it, hows that bus trip every day?

Didn't you realise that the Visa had a must visit the SS Office 3 times in the small print?;)

There's another one for the dictionary.. in US English, 'homely' usually means 'ugly'.
'Homey' is the word we'd use.

But it always makes for interesting conversation... 'What do you MEAN my place is homely???!!' :frown:

I'm on bus on the 101 right now. Been going 55 minutes from SV and still not even reached the airport. Usually the trip isnt too bad, but when it rains (read drizzles), the place slows to a mere crawl.

Worst thing is getting up early and getting home late. No time for anything really, but at least the weekends im close enough to all the life.

I eventually found myself a place between Marina and Russian Hill, so am quite well located for my cycles over the orange bridge :) On flipside, i've learned the term "marina girl"

Thanks Meaux, is it really true? Homely in the english sense might imply plain but has a certain implicit beauty?

I can't use the word "Homey", i would suggests some new words, but they all seem to close to becoming double entendres....homerific, homalicious, homeradical. I think i will settle on the standard "like totally home"
