Unfortunately that is not proof enough -- especially if you work for a small company. These companies often write a firm CV -- that is, a CV for the entire company, made up of pieces of their workers' CVs, and being able to say that 100% of the workers hold bachelor's degrees, say, is important.

Rough equivalent of an American high school diploma is acceptable numbers of O-levels passed or the GCSE, depending on when you were in school.

A degree means a university degree, but no one takes into account the fact that a lot of A-level holders are as educated as American college graduates. The trick is to get *ANY* American college degree -- even an associate's which takes two years vs. a bachelor's which takes four.

There must be a document somewhere that translates between the two education systems and I would not hesitate to explicitly equate GSCE = high school diploma, with an appropriate web reference to the equivalency page.

Failing that there is no reason you couldn't sit the GED which WOULD be recognised as high school equivalency.
