Default Need help with emergency travel document!

Hello, my passport was stolen shortly before I have to leave to go home to England because my grandmas 90th birthday/ surgery. I think I meet all the requirements to apply for an emergency travel document. I have a police report of a stolen passport, good reason to travel and all the forms filled out. I just need to know if I can only go to the Washington embassy or can I go to closer ones. I live in columbus ohio and am willing to go to washington if necessary, also how do I book an appointment th embassy websites are very vague.

You can go to one of the Consulates that issue them, if one is closer to you. Look up the Consulates on the Embassy web site, and see which ever covers you area and what they require to make an appointment.

Chicago might be closer.

I don't know, but I imagine if you cannot manage to make an appointment, you can turn up and join a queue. I know when I went for my K1 interview at the US embassy in London, there was a queue, that I jumped as I had an appointment, so I assume the rest were just there on the fly for various reasons.
