Need health insurance - moving in less than 3 weeks!
 

We're moving to Arizona from the UK in less than three weeks and I'm having trouble finding health insurance because the plans I've looked at ask: 'have you been living in the US less than 12 months?'. If so, it means they won't cover us. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm a USC and so are my children - my husband will be a green card holder.

We have travel insurance through our banks but that won't cover us because we need to arrive back in the UK within x number of months.

Is your, or your husbands, employer not offering health insurance?

We're both self employed. We'll be starting up a business in about six months and we'll organize group insurance then, so we just need something to tide us over...

the NHS is considered cover, so long as you get insurance within 30 days I think?

e-insurance check for quotes and expect them to be crap...and join up any local town commerce society or what not for future business and get in on any action they offer.

When we moved over we got a short-term policy to cover us for 6 months from the below insurer. Checked out plans online, then sorted it out over the phone, paid by credit card up front for the 6 months, and had confirmation by email before we flew that coverage started on the date we flew over, and was in force for 6 months. You have to go through the usual 15 minutes of health questions but that's normal for US health insurance.

It was no issue at all that we had no previous US health insurance.
