It's annual....if you don't pay it within a couple of months, they add on a whole bunch of extras...perhaps that is what is happening here?
Its just something I've never heard of....just shows how different things can be. We are taxed a road tax, but nothing about property taxes for cars...

We're taxed for both

One can be got out of if the car is beached and not driven on public roads but then they get you on the other at the very least, cheeky sods
