National Insurance - should I still pay it?

Now that my K-3 is on the way, I'm in the process of sorting out my military pension. It will be payed from my 40th birthday and I've been told that I'll have UK income tax taken at source; but the pension payment office will send the money in US$ to my account in FL via TAPS (Transcontinental Automated Payment System) at no cost to me.

To be honest I don't plan to go back to the UK so is it worth me still paying NI contributions?

Any advice will be appreciated.

You never know if you'll return or not, so it might be worth it, especially as you don't have that much to contribute to get a full pension...

Yes, it will very likely be worth it. Keep paying it to get a good pension.
