I can't get documents notarized online where I live. This has to be paper. Also any contracts I have I prefer to have the originals. Yes you can fax or email.

Not in Oregon as far as I know. No bank or mortgage company will accept online notarized docs. They even go to the trouble of sending a notary to your home in some cases.

Online notary is legal in all 50 states and DC

That maybe true but not many notaries provide the service. The biggest obstacle may be that attaching the seal to the original document is difficult.

it is linked to the underlying electronic document in a manner that any subsequent alterations to the document or electronic notarial certificate are detectable
