UK USA

Toilet or Lavatory = Bathroom
Rubber = Eraser
Rubber = Condom
Knickers = ladies underwear
Torch = flashlight
Trainers = sneakers
Braces = Suspenders
Cheque = Check
Bill (restaurant) = Check
Garage = Gas station
Filling station = Gas station
Service station = Gas station
Mars bar = Milky way
White sauce = Gravy
Bonnet = Hood
Boot = Trunk
Wardrobe = Closet
Flat = Apartment
Terraced house = Row house
Semi-detached = Duplex
Bungalow = Ranch
Tap = faucet

Pavement = Sidewalk
Road = Pavement
Cashpoint = ATM
Supermarket = Grocery store
Motorway = Freeway/interstate

I guess there's a few that are different in Ohio (strange really because you're in PA ).

UK - USA - Ohio

Rubber = Condom = rubber
Knickers = ladies underwear = panties
Trainers = sneakers = tennis shoes
Garage = Gas station = shop

Minced beef = ground beef = hamburger

I've heard of pants, (i.e. Y-fronts) being referred to as skivvies in the UK - I've not heard that one here though, well, not that I go around discussing underpants with complete strangers...

My daughters first week of school they were all told to put their homework in the bin, yep, she did just that! The teacher asked her why she hadn't handed her homework in, she said I did it's in the bin like you said!! Took her a few moments to explain what she had done with it while her face grew redder and redder, bless!!!!!!
