Question My Job options in Florida

Hey all, as some of you already know that i am moveing to Florida next year (Green Card). my dilemma is,
At the moment my job in the UK is Corporate Travel (Manage a team of 8). Before i knew i had been selected for my Green Card, I started college, I am currently studying Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy, I will qualify at the end of this year or Jan 2012 depending on when i take my finals.

This is the career path i want to go do when i move to Florida. I have checked with the Board of Massage Therapy FL and they have told me that my qualification is not an approved qualification in FL. I would have to have my education evaluated by an Approved School, which i have a list of.

Does anyone know anybody that has gone through this process and if the School's have approved their qualification? I understand each state can be different, I know i also need to have a licence to practice.

Thanks in advance

Just out of interest how did you get 'selected' for your Green Card?

Hey Kittenheels,

I'm in a similar situation having completed my diploma in remedial massage. I've been reading through the Licensure requirements and it is daunting. I found some good information on the following site:

http://www.ncbtmb.org/applicants_por...w_handbook.php

It appears that as long as you can provide a transcript for your study in the UK it can be reviewed by the board and accredited to you in the US.

If you find out any other information would you be able to post it? I am also planning to move to FL in the near future.

Sam
