Lurpak was definitely very pale, almost white.

Hi JerseyG
Yes, I am sure it was always whitish. The packs we buy are "Made In Denmark", yet the butter is the same color as Kerry G. Maybe they changed it in UK. I will have to ask someone back home.
Hows the temps in NJ? Cold here in NYC. What area in NJ do you live.

Maybe your right, I don't know, never went for Lurpak anyway *l*...and the kerrygold, way to pricey for me, a half pack cost more than twice a four stick pack costs, and we only use butter for baking anyway *l*

The Kerry G & Lurpak is around $3.50 to $4.50 a pack. Few years ago was $5.99 per pack. My UCS, wife mostly eats it, me occasionally. I go for the low cholesterol marge, got to try.
Local buns: My local Food Emporium, has some 6 for $3, but they look & taste disgusting. Someone bought them for me last year. They don't have that thin sugar cross. They have icing thats about quarter inch thick stuck on top. From memory, they have peel in the buns.
