Not sure why Tescos are selling H X buns in February, regular currant buns would have been fine.
i would invite you all round to taste, but not feeling that generous.

Ps. 1 bite left, ugh!!!!!

Sorry, south. Though in such a small landmass England, Scotland & Wales North & south aren't that far away.
As for Kerry & Lurpak, we can now buy in lots of NYC stores. The Lurpak we buy in USA seems yellow in color, I remember it being whitish in Blighty.

My Mum's bringing over a load of HX buns at the end of March, sod the crumpets this time. I bought some HX buns from the local store but they were nothing like the ones back home.

I like them when they are fresh with butter. Or if they are a day or 2 old, toasted with butter or cheese.

My mouth is watering just thinking about them. I'll have to make do with the english pancakes I am making for supper.

Is it an import or a knock off?

I have several packs in my freezer. I bring them back from Toronto along with crumpets, choc. digestive bisuits, Cadburys, garlic butter and anything else I can find that reminds me of home.

The buns came from UK Tesco. Hope customs aren't reading this thread.

You're being so thoughtless? Hot cross buns are an offense to other religions.
Headteacher bans hot cross buns
A school in Suffolk has banned hot cross buns - in case they offend pupils from religious minorities.

I asked my mam to bring some with her when she came over a month ago, which she did. but she insisted on making my wife try one (typical american, VERY funny about trying new stuff, especially english stuff!) any way after pulling her face and sniffing it a few times she tried it and loved it, only trouble is i only managed to get one, she had scoffed the rest by the time i thought about eating another one! (i was trying to save em as long as possible!) bloody typical! not amused! (and of course without cheese, that is just soooooooo wrong!, really need a puking smilie!))
