Re: Muslims cant go to USA now
You should probably rephrase your question. It is incorrect to say that Muslims cannot go to the USA right now. My wife received a K3 visa from Islamabad last month, and I know of many other people who have received various visas from Islamabad recently.
You are probably wondering about the additional checks performed on people, especially males, from certain Muslim majority countries. These folks are undergoing additional background checks before a visa of any sort is issued. Furthermore, they are being asked to be fingerprinted and registered once they reach the US.

Patrick,
Actually, there is an additional form they make you fill out when you apply for visas now. In that form, they actually ask you about your religion, where you had your education since childhood, your father's name, your mother's name and any name that you have had in the past(in case of a name change).
I can't really comment on if this is to bar any religious group from entering the US but they said they are doing it as an added security measure.

It's not Muslims that the Unites States doesn't allow in!
I believe they are trying to prevent terrorists from getting visas. Religion should have nothing to do with it..it should be based on the specific person applying for a visa. I have heard of many Muslims obtaining visas and they should!

Muslim immigration to the U.S. has gone up (way up!) since 9/11. I believe the NY Times did a story on it. I'll attest to that. There seems to be a lot more Muslims in the NYC area (where I live) now than before.
