Admittedly it doesn't say that you can do so on VWP. The websites are clear as mud, as usual!

oh dear god no - that would actually mean having lessons and paying 8 million quid for it pluys the test!!

this is america after all - you dont really need to "learn" to drive - theres plenty of us here who are learning once we passed

I thought he had already been advised that he wouldn't be able to take the test here in the US? So if he wants to drive here, he would have to take a UK test before he comes.
