Moving to the US from the UK

I'm 18 and wanting to move to the US to basically get away from the weekly routine of walking down the street and trying to avoid being mugged by lads in hoods.

Im wanting to try and kick start an acting career out there while working part-time.

Im just wondering how i would go about doing this?

Thanks
Luke

Luke, read this:

If you do not fall into any of these visa categories, your chances of moving/living/working in the US are slim to none.

Hi Luke,

It's going to be harder than you can possibly imagine. Quite honestly, marry an American. That's the easiest way (and even that is not guaranteed).

Short of that, consider going to uni in the US, or consider getting a job for a major company that has offices in the UK and getting transfered to the US office.

If you look at the wiki link above you'll probably start to discover Australia or Canada might be more welcoming.

Move on over - instead of being mugged by lads in hoods, you can instead be shot by lads in the 'hood :D
