Moving to the UK

My husband is British and I am Canadian. We are planning to move back to the UK this fall.

Is it possible to apply for a settlement visa in the UK (i.e. enter as a visitor)? Or do I have to apply before?

Thanks so much!

You have to apply before. If you arrive without an appropriate visa you stand a good chance of being sent back home on the next plane. Also it is nigh on impossible to apply from inside the UK so you would have to go back to Canada to get the visa at some point and couldn't legally work or get NHS without it.

Is he also a Canadian citizen? If not, might be a good idea to get his citizenship before you leave. Many people don't think about this until too late.

You have to apply before. No flexibility.
