Re: Moving to San Diego
I live in Murrieta, Riverside County, it is commutable to SD ( my husband commutes to Carlsbad) it is low crime, cheaper to live. I do not yet have a care but public transport is quite good (walking anywhere is difficult due to lack of footpaths). The people are really friendly, albeit a little abrupt sometimes).
My husband is on 75k and we have four children. Our house rent is for a very nice large house (we even have a pool table) and it is $2150 pm. We are just about paying our bills etc but we know all will be good once I get a work permit and start bringing in the pennies. Remember, when you get here you don't have a credit history so you have to pay cash for everything. We have found Yard/estate/garage sales and also local selling sites very helpful. We had a relocating agency help us but they weren't the best < wee snip > We did not move here for the money we came for the lifestyle and are thoroughly enjoying it. You don't want to look back and say '' I wish I had done that when I had the opportunity '' do it now. At the end of the day if it doesn't work you can go back. Good luck |
