Moving a piano to USA

I am looking into moving my mother's baby grand piano (a Broadwood) to the USA.
IF anyone has any experience with moving - just this one item - from UK to USA I'd be glad to hear about it
- rough costs
- how did it go
- were the results worth it ?
Thanks
nkosi
p.s. my piano tuner friend here in Colorado has already warned me about the effect of our high-altitude dry air, which, albeit we love it,
may cause the piano to be forever dropping out of tune.....

Ok, I have never shipped a piano, but I have shipped back and forth, large, expensive household items. Here is my advise for what its worth. Get it propery crated. Call moving companies and ask for a quote to share room on a container. (Hagle with them) Shipping companies always have partial load frieght to amalgamate which saves you money. Get insurance! Heres a down side to remember. Containers do fall from ships! But, the upside is the chances of it being your frieght is slim to none. Hope that helps a bit.
