moving money UK to USA
Hi all,
I am new to the site but have so many questions about just about everything yes I am that annoying one that wants to know everything about everything before I do...
I am wondering about money and the best way to move it. I have been introduced to moneycorp, we haven't had any experience with them and we are open to any advice. Has anyone had any dealings with them at all? or is there a better option?

I have used Torfx and Transferwise and been very happy with both.

Re: moving money UK to USA
I've just transferred a decent amount of money over. I tried MoneyCorp initially as a friend uses them a lot and was able to get my transfer fees waived. What I found was that their website rate was lower than TransferWise (even with the waived fees) but they could offer slightly better rates the more you transfer, but only over the phone through your Account Manager.
In the end I stuck with TransferWise as the extra amount through MoneyCorp was negligible and it would have meant having to transfer everything in one go over the phone compared to the much more flexible approach of TransferWise.
I also went in branch to BoA to notify them that I would be receiving a substantial amount (>$10k) as some had suggested on here, but they told me that it wasn't necessary.

The one advantage MoneyCorp has over Transferwise is with MoneyCorp you can lock the rate for up to 2 years for regular payments. Transferwise you can lock it for 24 hours only. They all offer different options but if the only criteria is getting the most $ for your £ then no one beats Transferwise.
