Default Moving to Las Vegas

Hello Folks!

I am moving to Las Vegas in October and wondered if there were many expats living in the City? Would be good to chat and find out what it's like to live in Vegas!

Thanks
Lee

Hi Lee

I'm here in Vegas have been here 9 months with my husband and two kids.

Are you coming by yourself or with family.

Any questions and I'll try to help answer them.

I am in N. LV near Nellis. It is OK, I miss the family back home but I guess my heart is in the US. I have 2 active duty military kids and I know eventually they are all gonna settle here in the US so figured I may as well lay roots. Still getting used to this desert heat! What bought you to Vegas?

Husbands job, first time in the US. We will be returning to the UK either late next year or the year after.

Are your kids in the US military and are they posted around here? Is that why you decided to settle in Vegas.

My husbands job means we visit Nellis regularly:-).

They are in the USAF, one in NM and one in Germany, then my eldest is still in the UK waiting on her visa to move here. I was just ready to lay some roots I guess. How are you enjoying living in the US?

Not settled that well to be honest, but that has a lot to do with my husbands job. We originally came here for 2 years then it changes every week to longer. Not knowing when we are going home makes it harder for me to just enjoy it.

Saying that we have met some wonderful people and been to some amazing places.

Have you found the US changed much from the last time you lived here.

Unemployment has gotten worse, but saying that it only took me a week to find a job, wasn't what I was doing in the UK, but it's a job. Other than that, things seem much about the same.
