Moving July 1- how should I fill out the I-129F?
Hi Everyone,
I am in the process of filling out form I-129F in order to get a K-1
visa for my fiancee, who is Taiwanese. The trouble is that I will be
moving from Virginia to Kentucky on July 1. I would like to know if I
should put down the Virginia address or the Kentucky address. Putting
down the Kentucky address would be problematic since I won't be able
to receive mail there until July 1 (the apartment is being rented to
someone else). On the other hand, I imagine that changing the address
would lead to major headaches. Thanks in advace for any advice!

I don't know, but if it were me I would put down the new address, and go to the correct post office there and have your mail forwarded to your old address until you move, and then have your mail forwarded from your old address as you normally would to your new address after you move...Just a thought...Hope you figure it out...

Thanks for all the helpful advice! It's really amazing how much of a
difference there is among the service centers. This morning I called
the BCIS, and they said that I should wait until I actually move to
Kentucky before filing, since if I move while it is being processed I
am required by law to tell them my new address, and the Vermont
Service Center will then mail the application to the Texas Service
Center which will take time. Actually, the present tenant agreed to
hold my mail, so I could mail the application before I move.
Another possibility would be to go the I-130 / K-3 route, since this
would avoid the TSC and make my fiancee's parents happy. Does anyone
know how long this process takes compared to the K-1 visa? How long
does it take to receive the I-130 confirmation?
Thanks again!

Zach,
Getting married and going the I-130/K3 route would not avoid the TSC, not yet anyway. Your I-130 will be filed at - the TSC, and their timeframe for appoving them is on the order of 2 years.
While you don't need approval of the I-130 to proceed on with the the K3, you may need to wait for approval for your wife to subsequently apply for Adjustment of Status. Add to the existing uncertainty all the uncertainty that surrounds the impending transition of the MSC to the NBC, and to me this just doesn't sound like the thing to do.
If I were in your situation, as you have described it, I'd submit an I-129f petition to the VSC, using your current address, ASAP. By the time you move it will probably have been acted on. It will certainly have been acted on by the time you get settled in your new location and you have an opportunity to submit the required address change.
