Hi Joe
I lived for 68 years in the Hudson Valley. Not a Brit but a Yank. Where about are you located. Westchester County? Dutchess County? Orange County?
There is a Forum Rules site located under the masthead. Before posting again, please have a read.

Hi Joe, welcome to BE. ![Smile](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Typically the way things work here is that people post a question/ start a thread, and then members chip-in with advice based on their knowledge and experience, rather than people soliciting 1:1 advice. And as BE is a public forum, with appoximately 10 times or more people reading posts/ threads than the number of members who contribute to a thread, we feel that there is real value in generally keeping advice in the public threads. Furthermore, especially on the visas and immigration threads, giving advice privately is specifically discouraged.
