Re: Moving to Florida advice
Frickin' amazing show. Used to stay up late on Saturday nights for that one.
Gran Torino for the win!
I live near Colfax Ave, in Denver. You can usually see drunks, druggies, hookers, scene kids, goths, and all manner of colorful people on Colfax. It's odd, though, that they never venture more than one block South of Colfax to the gentrified neighborhood. I live two block South of Colfax.
For some reason, dodgy people seem to confine themselves to their own neighborhoods. In the UK, I seem to recall hearing about Away-Days, were yobs would use the train to visit the suburbs and burgle houses.
Maybe it's the guns that keeps that at bay. Yay, guns!

Re: Moving to Florida advice
ADVICE WANTED!
We are a British family moving to Florida from the west coast within the next few weeks. We have narrowed our search down to the Northeast and in particular St Johns County as we have been recommended this area as a low crime and good schools area (we have 2 young boys, aged 5 & 9). We intend on renting initially while we look around at property (6 months?). Can anyone recommend towns/cities not too far a commute from Jacksonville, we have already looked into Fruit Cove/Switzerland and that seems a lovely area from what we can see on the web but we have not been there. We are looking for a predominately caucasean population of either young familes and/or older folk with a community atmosphere, friendly, open-minded people who would be happy to have 'foreigners' as friends! Are there many brits in the Jacksonville area? Would be grateful for anyone's opinions based on experience? Thanks a lot in advance!

[ ] Pacific Islander
[ ] African American
[ ] Honky

Another preferred term for caucasian is 'The Man'.

St. Louis used to be North= Black and South = White. Then the Blacks started moving South so the Whites are heading West! (East is Illinois, nobody lives there. At least that's what they told us in school.)
