Moving costs UK to US

Hi

Does anyone have any ideas of the approximate costs of moving the contents of a 4 bed house from the UK to the US (midwest) and any recommendations of a good firm to talk to?

Thanks!

Several thousand dollars, frankly. We found it cheaper to sell our
furniture in the UK and buy more in the US, but we have cheap stuff.

We have used Sterling International, Inc. of New Jersey twice for
transatlantic moves and would use them again. There is the usual
caveat that they underestimate the volume so you look more at the
rates upon which an estimate is based, than the total of the estimate
itself, when comparing different offers. Sterling International Movers
of Middlesex is a completely different company, not a UK arm of the NJ
one. See http://www.sterlinginternational.com/ for more information.
(We're also midwest.)
