Default Moving cars to different states

I am moving to Texas early next year, but have been offered a car by a friend in Oklahoma.
What will I need to do to the car when I move it into Texas, and how long will I have to do this?
I assume I will have to put on Texas plates and possibly have some sort of inspection?

Any advise please

Just contact a local DMV office when you get to Texas. It's a pretty
painless process.

I have not lived in TX in 10 years, but normally you need to have a signed title transfer, then re-register it with in 30-90 days of moving to the state. You will probably need proof of insurance also to register it.

I'm sure that Texas DMV can help you. As a matter of pure speculation -- I would make sure you transfer title in TEXAS -- I can envision you might have to pay two registration fees if you transfer title in OK and then register it in TX.
