it was pretty quick all in all I thought, The delays I encountered were all in my own doing in not having my long form birth certificate. which I needed to get from the UK and send to the embassy.

once they had all the docs they needed from me, took about 5 days.

they mailed everything back DHL.

I stand corrected regarding the Embassy in Washington DC where does seem to be very prompt. Takes much longer in other places e.g. Paris.
