Default Moving back to the UK

After a pretty enjoyable 3 years in California, we've made the call to move back to the UK in early September. Current economic pressure has made affordability a serious issue for us, and frankly we'd rather relocate on our own terms rather than be pushed out after spending every last penny on trying to stay.

So with that in mind, I'm looking for any and all insight into a move back to the UK. We are pretty convinced it's permanent, our journey out here was hard enough and I doubt we want to go through that again, and our routes to more permanency/stability are few and far between.

We adopted a dog here, and she'll be coming back with us. That looks to be the most challenge part of relocation so far. It's unlikely our jobs will continue remotely so we'll have to find something once we get back. Our support network is otherwise good, we have a place to live and to manage the 14 day quarantine too. Other than closing bank accounts and given notice on tenancies - is there anything important we need to do that I may have missed? Does anyone have any advice on adjusting back into UK life?

TIA

Perhaps the OP should check out the Moving Back to the U.K. section of the forum.

Whoops, didn't even realise there was a section. Apologies. Mods, please delete this thread.

Good idea, much more likely to get the thoughts of those of us that did go back after living in the USA.
