Movie reviews...
By “Barry Yosser Norman
What is up with Hollywood this summer? Spiderman 2, complete disappointment, do not believe the reviews. Two Brothers, took my daughter to this one, had to put up with Guy Pearce (is he still in neighbors) annoying brit accent. King Arthur, haven’t seen it yet, but overheard some yank couple say “didn’t like it…couldn’t understand what they were saying!…now we are lead to believe that Arthur was some tribal, braveheart savage that fought the bloody Romans???? What! Mystic River, good acting, but left me utterly depressed after watching it! Hmmmm, I wonder what else is there……………Cat women…..arrrrgh! -- Posted via http://britishexpats.com |

9-11. Not everyone's cup of tea by any standard, but worth
the money. Dodgeball Could not stop laughing. Anyone who has seen this film will never forget the dodge a wrench dodge a ball scene. Shrek 2 Excellent film, one you will watch 100 times & still find something new you have never seen before. -- Posted via http://britishexpats.com |
Re: Movie reviews...
I've heard that Spiderman 2 and The Bourne Supremacy are both excellent.

Spiderman 2 - best movie of the summer so far. 9/10
Dodgeball - so funny I pissed myself - 8/10 Anchorman - neck and neck as funniest movie of the summer - 8/10 Troy - rather have melon shoved up my arse - 2/10 Shrek 2 - wonderful 8/10 Starsky and Hutch - worst movie since view from the top 0/10 I Robot - I bored shitless 4/10 The day after tomorrow - the best time to see this movie is the day after your dead 3/10 King Arthur - Pirates of the Caribean without pirates, script or decent acting 4/10 Patrick -- Posted via http://britishexpats.com |

Depends on each person's taste/opinion ... but I found: I, Robot ... saw it last week ... imho a FANTASTIC MOVIE ... read the book version years ago; movie changed the plot somewhat, but a FANTASTIC sci- fi movie, imho. Bourne Supremacy-> saw it yesterday. Hi-octane action, one of the lead characters from the last movie got killed off, bound to be a third movie ... "Bourne to die" ... *lol* I am wondering if there will be a good movie to see next week ... -- Posted via http://britishexpats.com |

I haven't seen any new movies except for 9/11. The last scene was priceless, I'd have paid $20 to see it. My wife and I have been going though old movie classics. Igby Goes Down (no, not a porno ;) ), Amelie, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man. Also, caught Sexy Beast on the IFC channel the other night. Never heard of it before but it was a 9/10 (along the lines of Lock Stock...). It had Ben Kingsley and Ray Winstone in it. Cool flick. Right now we're going through the Penn and Teller Bullsh*t DVD box set along with Six Feet Under Series 2 and Dead Like Me. I'm thinking I have way too much time on my hands :D -- Posted via http://britishexpats.com |

I liked Dodgeball and King Arthur...I didn't really like Anchorman, I thought there were only like two funny parts. -- Posted via http://britishexpats.com |

It concentrated on the man, how hard it is for him to give up so much of his life to help others who don't appreciate it anyway. His life suffers to stop others suffering. It was complicated and layered and in true keeping with the comic books, I think anyone who went there for an "Independance Day" type rollercoaster action adventure would be disapointed. Instead of making an disposable action movie they made a movie with a plot and substance, people who just want load noises and car chases would be disappointed, and you are. I bet you liked Starsky and Hutch and first night though Patrick -- Posted via http://britishexpats.com |
Re: Movie reviews...
I also found Spider Man 2 to be utter crap. I was BORED, and no, not
even the special effects were enough to keep me interested. The Stepford Wives was also crap, though there was a few humorous lines. I don't think Nicole's terribly good at comedy. But she was great in Cold Mountain, which if you haven't seen yet you should see. 9/11 was great... probably one of the better films I've seen this year. I probably won't go to the cinemas for a while... disappointed. -- Posted via http://britishexpats.com |
