movers - Ottawa->US... Rete?
 

Rete?

What moving company did you guys use when you made the move to the US from Ottawa?

I think it may be sounder than us driving the stuff down... and perhaps more economical?

I have Jim on the phone and he says he used:

ByTown Moving and Storage

He shipped it consolidated which meant it didn't get here until about two weeks after he arrived. They waited until they had a full truck. There were three shipments in the truck. One from the US Embassy returning to Brooklyn, NY, Jim's and another to Florida. So they will go "south".

FYI, they will go a visual "weight" on the goods but if you insist they will do an actual which is better.

Any idea on the cost, total?

I'm getting weird quotes back ;) from many movers...

(I have boxes, no appliances)

Off the top of my head, the cost in '98 was approximately $900 Cnd. That was a full dining room set, table, 8 chairs and hutch, desk and chair and 65 boxes, two televisions, a entertainment unit, microwave.
